SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARVES (6+)
Bratislava puppet theatre (SK)
Bratislava puppet theatre – Studio
The brothers’ Grimm fairy tale about Snow White has a thousand versions. Bratislava puppet theatre brings thousand-and-first. The production team respects the well known, a little frightening plot of the classic story (a jealous stepmother wants the heart of Snow White, the huntsman brings her an animal heart, the stepmother tries to get rid of Snow White with a poisoned apple, Snow White bites into it and…), but they update this mini-horror for children in an original way and offer a number of merry and fresh ideas. The author and the director work with humour and elements of absurdity. Snow White and the seven dwarves is based on professional comedianship, traditional elements of puppetry and on a classic tale spiced by contemporary phenomena. This all guarantees that Snow White is the one who falls asleep, not the spectators.
Snow White and the seven dwarves amuses us by INTERSECTIONS of comical puppets and a tragic plot.
Author: Vít Peřina
Director: Michaela Homolová
Scenic design, puppets: Robert Smolík
Music: Filip Homola

These artists form an experienced team with many collective productions for the youngest audience in the Naive Theatre Liberec (About the Lamb that Fell from the Sky, Choo. Choo. Whistle. Woof!) and successful adaptations of classic fairy tales for the whole family (Budulínek, Little Red Riding Hood’s Grandma is Celebrating her Birthday Today!), which brought them prestigious awards at home and abroad.

WAR OF THE WORLDS (11+)
DRAK theatre (CZ)
Bratislava puppet theatre – Main stage
The most famous adaptation of Herbert George Wells’ famous novel about the Martian invasion of Earth, War of the Worlds, was made for radio – the American CBS station. Director Orson Welles’ suggestive treatment was styled as a live news report and led to panic among listeners who believed that the invasion was actually taking place. It was the first treatment of the phenomenon of the power of the newly emerging mass media, its ability to create deceptively suggestive images, manipulate reality and influence people’s thinking. A phenomenon that is more than familiar to us today, almost a hundred years on, but against which, with the development of social networks and artificial intelligence, we as a society seem increasingly defenseless.
The multi-layered War of the Worlds – these are the INTERSECTIONS of puppetry and sound.

Dissection (12+)
ŠKROBOTNÍK, ŠLUNDRA, ŠIBROVÁ (CZ)
Bratislava puppet theatre – Workshed
The theatrical vanitas of an animator and pathologist who both animates and dissects the world of things and puppets. Entering the body is always a breaking of taboos because it disrupts cosmic unity. Macrocosm and microcosm are paramount here. Absolute unpacking. Carefully selected texts by Ján Jessenius, Jindřich Štyrský, Jaroslav Durych and music by Václav Karel Holan Rovenský resound in this laborious dissection.
In Dissextion we experience the INTERSECTIONS of visual installation and puppet theatre.

The band was formed in 2016 as a trio of young boys who discovered their passion for music during a summer camp. Subsequently, they began to develop their interest together in Bratislava, focusing exclusively on original work from the very first moment. Since 2018, The AnyOne have been regularly releasing singles on digital platforms and performing several times a month, mainly in Bratislava at public club concerts. The band’s work is dominated by rock, but they are no strangers to blues or classic rock’n’roll.
