HELLO, I’M PUPPETRO! (6+, premiere)
Bratislava puppet theatre (SK)
Bratislava puppet theatre – The whole building
Theatre is like a magic box full of spinning gears, moving cylinders, rotating handles and everything fits together. Behind the door of the administration department, the director’s office, in the workshop, in the lift, in the lightning booth… The whole place is full of those who participate in the creation of the theatrical wonder. Let’s seek magic in the ordinary, the people, the space. Embark on an adventurous quest into the midst of Puppetro and explore all of its corners – from the entrance hall to the attic. There are things happening all over the place, something shifts unexpectedly, someone somewhere disappears and reappears all of a sudden. Inanimate objects live their own lives. Cracks, recesses and nooks are populated by theatre elves. And all is connected by simplicity, charm and humour. Enter the world where puppetry is born. Hello, I’m Puppetro! And you?

OVER THE EDGE (12+, premiere)
Bratislava puppet theatre (SK)
Bratislava puppet theatre – Main stage
Fear is a natural reaction, which protects us against danger. It doesn’t always work as it should, however. And it’s not always justified. The same goes for restrictions. We can arm ourselves with caution, but neither risks nor fear can be entirely avoided. The question is what we are going to do about them. Whether we get paralysed and bound or we learn to face them. Production bordering on object, physical and documentary theatre OVER THE EDGE moves on the edge of courage and recklessness, obedience and breaking restrictions, sometimes a little beyond the edge. It explores the limits of our fear and the consequences of going beyond them. The taste of the forbidden fruit.
In OVER THE EDGE we can find INTERSECTIONS of object, physical a documentary theatre.

AWAKENED ELECTRONICS (6+)
Opening of art installation by Antonín Kindl (CZ)
Bratislava puppet theatre – Backstage
Obsolete technical equipment covered by a layer of dust began to waken. Machines charged by sensory stimuli emerged from theatre storage, ready to come alive in a new way. Lanterns began to talk, speakers began to shine, as if each object wanted to tell its own story. Installation of interactive objects presents old theatre equipment, which has been transformed into new forms and enriched with sensors, lights and sounds. Awakened electronics invites you to discover the hidden life of these technical relics, where technology comes to life and communicates with the audience.
Author, production: Antonín Kindl
Antonín Kindl
Antonín Kindl focuses on new media and installations on the edge of technology and art. He is a student of the master’s degree in the MediaLab at The Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava under Ján Šicko. He’s interested in the way technology influences us. He tries to overcome its conventional use and looks for new, unexpected approaches. Installations he creates are lively interactive organisms, which provoke the audience to active participation. He examines with great intensity the processes of perception and creates his own perception systems. In his work, a regular technological instrument turns into a colleague in the exploration of new forms of expression and experience.

Opening of a lasting exhibition by Fero Lipták (SK)
Bratislava puppet theatre – Entrance hall
On the verge of 19th and 20th century toy industry experiences golden age. Miniatures of practically everything found at home are made, giving rise to building blocks, mechanical toys, music boxes, manual carousels, jacks in the box – beautiful, creative and magical toys. Fero Lipták is a curious person and he likes challenges which satisfy his curiosity. He researched various kinds of old toys, studied their principles, added his characteristic style, a bit of theatrical charm, enlarged them almost to the size of an average first-grader and created unique, hand-operated moving objects for the small as well as for the big ones. Come and turn the crank, move the shafts, pull the rods, spin the wheel, come and play with a toy which has a soul
